KUALA LUMPUR, June 13, 2008: Construction Services Specialist ISG Asia presented cheques totalling RM112,000 raised from charity auction to two local charities. ISG Asia hosted its inaugural Malaysia charity auction as part of its Sustainability programme following the success of charity auctions held elsewhere in the region. The event received overwhelming support from clients and partners amd RM112,000 was raised at the auction. All proceeds went towards the ISG Asia-led school improvement project for the Appar Tamil School, whereby ISG Asia will upgrade the school facilities in collaboration with The Royal Bank of Scotland (formerly known as ABN AMRO Bank) to improve the learning environment of underprivileged students; and the Wisma Harapan Schools, an organisation providing education and training for the mentally challenged children. The cheques were presented to the charities at an informal ceremony this evening. "We feel very privileged to have this opportunity
to serve our local communities, especially the more needy groups,"
said Paul Marshall, ISG Asia's Country Director for Malaysia. "The
Appar Tamil School refurbishment project has already commenced
and will complete end June. We are looking forward to seeing the
delight on the students' faces when they return from their school
hpliday to a refreshed learning environment."
